About this plugin

ZeeMee Flipbooks turns a PDF into a page-flip document right on your WordPress site. Upload the file, mark the areas that should be clickable and drop in a shortcode. The plugin handles the rest: page turning, zoom, thumbnails, fullscreen and mobile layout.

It is built for shops with weekly offer catalogues, local newspapers, magazines and associations with member publications that want to show their print product online without sending readers off to a third-party service.

What it does

  • Page-flip viewer in the browser – two pages on wide screens, one on phones. Double-click to zoom, drag with the mouse to pan, turn pages with the arrow keys or a swipe.
  • Clickable areas – step through the pages in the editor, drag a rectangle over an offer or an ad and give it a link.
  • Validity periods – set “valid from/to” on an offer catalogue. You can use a shortcode, that always shows the latest catalogue that is valid today, and switches on its own when the next one takes effect.
  • Scheduled publishing and unpublishing – publish at a set time with WordPress’ own scheduling, and let the plugin withdraw the document when it is no longer current.
  • Library – A shortcode that lists every published document with covers, category filter and pagination.
  • Categories – group documents into offers, magazines, newsletters and so on.
  • RSS feed – /feed/flipbooks/ with the PDF as an enclosure and validity dates, so other systems can subscribe.
  • Webhook – every time a document is published, a flat JSON payload with link, timestamp, validity and categories is POSTed to a URL you choose. Custom headers and HMAC signing are supported, so it plugs straight into Zapier, Make, Power Automate or your own backend.
  • One-click cover image – page 1 is saved as the featured image and used in the library and feed.

Accessibility and technology

The viewer follows WCAG 2.1 AA: every control is labelled, clickable areas are real links reachable with Tab, page text is exposed to screen readers, and animations respect “reduce motion”. Documents carry structured data (schema.org DigitalDocument), and the viewer registers WebMCP tools so AI agents can read the document.

PDFs are rendered with PDF.js, which ships inside the plugin. Nothing is loaded from external servers and no cookies are set. The only outgoing request is the webhook you configure yourself.
